The awful truth …

Shaking hands will cause you great discomfort.

If the hand you shake is cold and clammy or hot and sweaty, your sensitive fingers will loudly transmit these conditions to your brain.

Even after disengaging, you’ll perceive (or imagine) residual dirt, moisture, skin cells and bacteria.

A shocking proportion of men don’t wash their hands after urinating or defecating. The worst possible situation, therefore, is to be introduced to a large group of men exiting a public toilet.

On shaking hands, you’ll instantly crave soap and hot water. You may have to make do with tissues in your pocket until you can steal away unnoticed.

People won’t appreciate you rushing to a tap seconds after meeting them.
