Every now and then, disparate elements combine to create a natural spectacle.

If you’re lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, the effect of this cosmic alignment will not be wasted on you.

Let’s say you’re in a disused laneway. It’s a cool spring day, quite breezy, and towering weeds choke the dank space.

  1. The clouds part.
  2. The wind enters the lane in such a manner as to spiral.
  3. The largest weed releases its fluffy seeds.

A magical ribbon of bright white unfolds before your astonished eyes. Whirling and uncurling, it heads straight towards you, before taking off into the sky and exploding into a thousand fragments above you.

The clouds return, the sunlight vanishes and the scene returns to boring normality.

Yet blazed across your memory is the indelible vision of a tiny miracle – played out just for you.

Even its retelling, a year after the event, will be enough to lift your spirits.

  1. Such moments not just for you, AS. I often have similar. Perhaps it just comes with not rushing around too much and taking life so seriously? Excellent anecdote though. Carry on!

  2. Thank you, adamnrave; you make an excellent point.

As I’ve built this blog and garnered comments, I’ve realised that there’s no way of ascertaining the ‘aspie’ content (if any!) of my various life experiences.

And as I certainly don’t sit around campfires debating this matter with others, comments like yours are particularly useful and welcome. So thanks again! 🙂
